The Moon Shines Down

After reading “The Moon Shines Down” by Margaret Wise Brown, I have to say I am very happy they found this lost manuscript 56 years after her death! It took me back to my childhood when I use to sit on my parents lap and have them read to me and being in the library sitting down and watching the librarian or helper read to you. I look forward to sitting down with my niece and nephews and reading them this book before they head off to their sleepy dreams. There were many things I loved about this book. I loved how it was hard back, so it will last longer. I loved the extremely bright colored pages. They popped out at you with such vivid backgrounds and characters. The work of Linda Bleck is amazing. I love the way she drew out exactly what the words were describing so that little kids can visualize it more. The little koala that tags along throughout the book is adorable and a great main character! I love how it goes throughout the whole world and teaches the children reading the book about different cultures and different countries. The pages then show the children reading the book how those children from the other countries and cultures looked and what they liked to do! I cannot imagine any child not loving this book! It’s a must-have children’s book that I agree will be become a classic! I look forward to sharing it with my children someday!
